Father's Day

Ry celebrated his first Father's Day this year :) We ate at T. C. Eggington's with his parents on Sunday morning.

Three generations of Jones: Doug, Ryan and Owen

Owen did great during breakfast, especially considering that it coincided with his normal nap time.
He colored....

And studied his belly

I have to take this opportunity to publically declare what a great dad Ryan is. He is very hands on, changing diapers, feeding, and babysitting so I can go out. He often gets on the floor and plays with Owen, and he can make Owen laugh like no one else. On the days that Ryan is home he takes care of Owen in the morning so I can sleep in. I also appreciate how Ryan takes over the manual labor when he is home, like putting Owen in his carseat and carrying him, getting him in and out of the car, and lugging around all of O's pack n play. Not a day goes by that I don't hear from Ry how much he loves and adores Owen.

You're a great dad, Babe. Thanks for selflessly serving and caring for Owen and me. So glad I get to parent Owen alongside you! Oh, and thanks for giving me a really really cute son :)

Happy Birthday to Me!

My birthday was last month, and we had a blast celebrating! I got to spend a giftcard to Charlotte Russe (my fave store), go out for coffee, and spend some time celebrating with my family and friends that evening. For my birthday dinner I requested frozen lasagna, yum! Ry's parents, Matt & Becky and their kiddos, my Dad and Jeff & Ruth (and a cameo appearance from my BFF Courtney and her hubby Josh!!) made my day so special. Thanks guys for celebrating with me!

Bella :)

Awhile back I took Bella out for her birthday. We went to Target where she got to pick out a toy... and try on some "pitty" shoes!

She picked this baby doll for her gift (I also got her a cute pink dress and some pink flip flops)

Then we went to Starbucks where I got her doll out of the package so she could play with it... and feed it her apple juice. This kid cracks me up!

I love you, Belly girl!!! Happy birthday!

1 Corinthians 13 from the Eyes of a Mother

“If I keep my house immaculately clean, and am envied by all for my interior decorating, but do not show love in my family- I’m just another housewife. If I’m always producing lovely things- sewing, art; if I always look attractive, and speak intelligently, but am not loving to my family- I am nothing. If I’m busy in community affairs, teach Sunday school, and drive in the carpool, but fail to give adequate love to my family- I gain nothing.

Love changes diapers, cleans up messes, and ties shoes- over and over again.

Love is kind, though tired and frazzled.

Love doesn’t envy another wife- one whose children are “spaced” better, or in school so she has time to pursue her own interests. Love doesn’t try to impress others with my abilities or knowledge as a mother. Love doesn’t scream at the kids. Love doesn’t feel cheated because I didn’t get to do what I wanted to do today- sew, read, soak in a hot tub. Love doesn’t lose my temper easily. Love doesn’t assume that my children are being naughty just because their noise level is irritating. Love doesn’t rejoice when other people’s children misbehave and make mine look good. Love is genuinely happy when others are honored by their children.”

BFFs

One of my best friends, Ruth, had a little boy, Luke, in March. Our boys are only 6 months apart! By default they are best buddies :) Owen is pretty entranced with Luke. Can't wait til they can run around and play with each other!
